How Movement Can Support Baby’s Journey Through Birth
with Adriana Babler
Designed for expectant parents and their birth partners.
You may be preparing for birth and still wondering: When labor begins, will I actually know what to do?
Your baby will be making a physical journey through your pelvis, and movement and positioning can change the space available along the way. You can learn about contractions, stages of labor and birth plans and still feel unsure about which positions to try, how movement can help, or how your partner can support you when you’re actually in the experience.
In this 90-minute hands-on workshop, we’ll take some of the movement and body awareness you may already be exploring during pregnancy and connect it directly to birth. You’ll learn why different movements may be useful at different moments in labor and practice ways to move, position and work with your body as labor unfolds.
Your partner will practice alongside you, learning how to support your movement, offer comfort and feel more confident supporting you as labor unfolds.
Rather than leaving with a list of “best” birth positions to remember, you’ll leave with a better understanding of your body and practical options you can adapt to what is happening in the moment. Because birth doesn’t always follow a plan, the goal isn’t to predict exactly how yours will unfold. It’s to help you understand your body, know you have options, and feel more prepared to respond to what you and your baby need along the way.
No previous yoga or birth experience is needed.
What to bring: One inflated birth or exercise ball and one shawl or rebozo per couple, our circle mats will be provided.
Space is limited to allow for hands on practice and individual attention. $75 per couple.
